Bob Proud is in his sixth term as a Clermont County commissioner where he currently serves as vice president of the Board. Mr. Proud is chairman of the Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission (OVRDC), a local arm of the Appalachian Regional Development Commission (ARC). Commissioner Proud is chairman of the state oversight committee for Reasoned and Equitable Community and Local Alternatives to Incarceration of Minors (RECLAIM OHIO) and was appointed to serve on the Governor's Council for Juvenile Justice. He has served as president of the Ohio Community Corrections Association, the Ohio Department of Corrections Advisory Board and currently serves on the Ohio Criminal Sentencing Commission and the Clermont County DUI Court Advisory Board. Commissioner Proud was chosen to serve on the National Association of Counties (NACo) Justice and Public Safety Steering Committee and as a member of this committee he serves on the methamphetamine action group. He has served as the chair and currently vice-chair of the Juvenile Justice sub-committee of NACo. Currently, he serves as Chair of the Public Safety and Justice Committee (County Commissioners Association of Ohio). Commissioner Proud is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO). Bob also serves on the Coalition for a Drug Free Clermont County, Live Oaks Business and Industry Partnership Council and Grant Career Center's Advisory Council. As Commissioner he serves as chair of the Records Commission, the Clermont County Terrorism Advisory Team, member of the Investment Advisory Board, and the Workforce One Leadership Board (Clermont, Butler, and Warren counties). Bob also belongs to the Batavia Rotary and Batavia Masonic Lodge #104 and attends the 1st Baptist Church of Glen Este. One of the most gratifying activities Commissioner Proud is currently involved in is honoring our troops, veterans and their families. Bob has been recognized for his work on behalf of our military and has founded the "Whole In My Heart" military support group. Bob is a graduate of Cumberland College, Kentucky with a B.S. in Religion and a B.S. in Psychology and a Certification in Secondary Education. Bob was born and raised on a small farm in Batavia Township and began his career in public service by working for Clermont Senior Services where after leaving he volunteered delivering Meals On Wheels for 15 years.
Bob is a lifelong resident of Clermont County.
